It came with all the benefits of a shotgun, without being offset by a pathetic range. In an era when shotguns could still be taken as secondary weapons, the SPAS-12 was particularly problematic.

This was a sub-machine gun that could 3-shot kill someone at all ranges, yes, really. And it will probably still be broken eleven years later in the Modern Warfare 2 Remaster. It was broken throughout the game's lifecycle.
